Domestic Violence
Domestic Violence refers to a pattern of abusive behavior within any relationship, where one partner seeks to gain or maintain control over another intimate partner which includes physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse.  Financial abuse is when someone takes control of finances to prevent the other person from leaving and to maintain power in a relationship.  The abuser may take control of all the money, withhold it, and conceal financial information from the victim. Madison City Police Department has found that during the COVID pandemic, domestic violence cases rose over 500% and recent research indicates that financial abuse occurs in 99% of domestic violence cases. Stand Strong Alabama provides hope and support to victims of domestic and financial abuse in Huntsville and surrounding areas through a six-step process focused on safety, independence, and healing. Offering innovative services like equine therapy, service animal pairing, and advanced biotechnology, the organization fosters holistic recovery and community reintegration.

Lifestyle & Fitness Wellness
Stand Strong Alabama believes a healthy active lifestyle is key to happiness and longevity. The CDC has identified that over 10 million Americans die each year from anything such as Heart Disease to Diabetes. We at Stand Strong Alabama have developed a Lifestyle plan to help get the average diet under control. We utilize several modern techniques developed by our medical team, nutritionists, and chefs to give our clients a wholistic and balanced eating lifestyle. Part of our Lifestyle plan includes tailored fitness with certified fitness instructors. We partner with local gyms & studios to help accomplish this task.

Equine Therapy
Equine therapy involves the use of horses in a therapeutic manner, which assists individuals in healing through touch, bonding, and mental processing. For example, special needs children and adults learn to brush and interact with horses, which helps foster trust as well as increases social interaction, communication, and better regulation of emotions. In addition, equine therapy supports gross motor functioning, vestibular processing, and balance, making this an effective treatment for those with certain physical disabilities and specific neurological disorders. Beyond what has been assessed already, equine therapy provides a sensory-rich, calming environment that facilitates sensory processing, reduces anxiety, boosts confidence, and encourages follow-through.

Pet Companion Matching
Animal-Assisted Therapy and Companion Matching are forms of mental therapy that helps the families going through traumatic events. We are working with trainers and local shelters to help match furry companions with victims and children to help improve their mental health. By interacting with cats and dogs, levels of serotonin and dopamine are increased, promoting calm and relaxation. Humans have the need for touch which pets can fulfill, this is particularly important for people who are lonely or who have not previously experienced mutual affection. Pets can help alleviate depression, stress, and anxiety.
